Unveiled — Matter, Pause, and Horizon
Ceramics has traditionally been understood as a surface: a material that covers, decorates, or finishes architecture. In this project, ceramics build the hole atmosphere.
Unveiled proposes ceramics as an architecture of movement. The space is conceived as a longitudinal courtyard that gradually reveals itself, not as a single image, but as a sequence of moments discovered as one walks through it. Platforms, symmetry, and perspective organize the space in a rhythm of pauses, allowing the visitor to move slowly through a landscape of extruded ceramic elements.
The material is presented in its most essential state. The extruded pieces from Nuet Ceramics are not used as ornamentation, but as the main architectural system: walls, floor, and structure emerge from the same material logic. Ceramics thus becomes both construction and atmosphere.
Light and shadow plays a central role in shaping the experience. As the sun moves across the sky, the ceramic surfaces absorb and reflect light, generating subtle variations in color, shadow, and temperature. The visitor passes through layers of matter and light, gradually discovering the space. During sunset and night, the floor is backlit.
At the end of the axis, the space opens up. The dense ceramic environment gives way to a framed view of the Madrid skyline, transforming the city into the final horizon of the journey.
“Al desnudo” is therefore not just a spatial installation, but a silent encounter between matter, light, and time: an intimate experience in which ceramics reveal themselves not as a surface, but as architecture in themselves. This installation will be moved to an orange grove next to the factory as a permanent exhibition.
